RICHMOND, VA — June 3 — Cudas Footwear hit the road to celebrate spring 2013, attending two acclaimed music festivals in the Southeast. 2013 was Cudas’ second year as sponsor of the Dominion Riverrock Festival in Richmond, VA. Cudas are the official footwear for the three day music and athletic festival. The festival brings 60,000 people to the James Riverfront for food, music and to support the 4,000 elite athletes competing in dock dogs, water sports, bike races, road races and mud runs. Cudas sponsored the kayak boatercross and kayak freestyle events for the festival.
Cudas also attended MerleFest in North Wilkesboro, NC for the first time, debuting water shoes and sandals to a crowd that favors “traditional plus” music. 76,000 attended the four day festival and enjoyed performances by music legends Leon Russell, the Avett Brothers and Charlie Daniels.
”Festivalgoers come back to our tent multiple times during a festival. Either it’s raining and the crowds want comfortable shoes that are water friendly or it’s sunny and the crowds are looking for sandals,” says Andy Jacobs, founder. “Festivals like these attract Cudas kind of folks, folks who are culturally enthusiastic, appreciative of nature and exploring outdoor hobbies like SUP. We enjoy getting out and meeting and making fans who will end up wearing our shoes all year, from the river to the beach and everywhere in between.”
